Fired
up pottery is a place where you can really
show (or discover!) your artistic side. Don’t have an artistic
side? Fired Up Pottery is three stores in one. Paint your own
pottery, or we have clay and wheels for creating your own masterpiece.
In a hurry? We have a small selection of pre made pieces t paint.

Storytime
at the Library. Each branch has their
own baby, toddler and/or preschool storytimes.
Monona
Public Library children’s programs. The Monona
Public Library offers a number of free storytime programs for
young children and families. They include Silly Snakes,
Blast Off to Outer Space, and Pet Parade. Each includes books,
songs, finger plays and a craft for preschool children. More

Bookmobile county stops. The Dane County Library Service Bookmobile
has 14 weekly stops throughout the county, carrying a wide
range of books, magazines, DVDs, books on CD, and music on

Madison
Children's Museum- Madison Children's Museum is a private,
not for profit museum featuring hands-on exhibits and programs
for children birth through twelve years old. Click here to

 Madison Turners at 3001 S. Stoughton Road, Madison,
WI 53716 offers Family Open Gym (all ages with parent supervision)
on Saturdays from 10am – 12pm. The cost is $5 for ages
3 and under and $8 for ages 4 and up. A group discount of $1
off per participant is available by calling ahead to schedule
a group of eight or more participants. All participants must
have waivers signed by their parents/legal guardians. Parents
are allowed to bring friends of their children as long as they
bring a completed waiver form for each child.
The Legacy
Academy Activity Center in Fitchburg
hosts a Youngsters Open Gym program on a daily basis except during
the summer. Open gym sessions are held as per the following schedule:
Monday through Friday 10:00 am - 12:00 Noon
Saturday and Sunday 10:00 am - 12:00 Noon
Youngsters enjoy playing
at our comfortable 6,000 square foot indoor facility which includes
padded activity floors, swingsets, short basketball hoops, a
Rainbow Castle Playset, gymnastics tumbling mats, bouncy balls,
tricycles, a recreational room, table games, and other play equipment.
Preschoolers are welcome to participate. Children under the age
of seven must be supervised by an adult relative or nanny. The
cost for each open gym session is $5.00 per child with no charge
for supervising adults or tots under one year old.
The Legacy Academy is

Also, for Thursday night family night we offer the option to

out and enjoy a fabulous time bouncing and playing on our giant
inflatables while meeting other parents and children from the
area. All children must wear socks, be at least 34 inches tall,
and have a signed waiver to play.
Keva
Sports Center: Keva is an indoor/outdoor recreation
sports facility.
KEVA OPEN PLAY
Cooler Weather often means finding indoor entertainment, and
Keva's Open Play is perfect for keeping those little bodies
active. Our large, enclosed, turf fields are a perfect place
for your kids to burn off a little energy. You can can bring
an entire playgroup if you would like. As a parent, you can
also meet and socialize with other parents. Coffee, Hot Chocolate,
Latte's are also available at the concession area.

Olbrich's
Tropical Bolz Conservatory- The tropical
Bolz Conservatory houses over 750 plants representing over 70
families and over 550 different species and cultivars. This is
the perfect place to let your kids roam. Birds, trees, koi,
waterfalls, flowers, and more. It is especially nice to go
in the winter, when it is freezing outside, and walk into a
warm steamy tropical paradise. Check out the butterflies in
the summer and the train show in the winter.
Studio
You - A paint your own pottery store, walkins
welcome. Come in and paint and come back about a week later
to pick up your finished piece. Great for all ages (even

Madison Metropolitan School
District Planetarium - The planetarium offers programs during the school year for
small groups, individuals, and families. They are usually on
the 3rd Wednesday of each month, October through April. The shows
are different each month.
Washburn
Observatory - The observatory is open
to the public on the first and third Wednesday of every month.
During the summer months, the observatory will be open every
Wednesday. The Open House sessions are hosted by volunteer astronomers.
The public viewing sessions are informal, so there is no lecture
or tour. The dome is open to the outside air to let the telescope
look out, so dress appropriately. Click the link for the current

Babcock
Hall Dairy - Located on campus, the dairy
and store has an observation window where kids can watch ice
cream and cheese being made and packaged. Visit the dairy store
after for yummy treats.
